Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Monday castigated the attack on Amar Desh acting Editor Mahmudur Rahman in Kushtia as a devil’s act, which “the Awami League cannot support.”
“Attack on Mahmudur Rahman is unwanted and undesirable. In politics, division of opinion can prevail. That is why we do not support such attack,” The Bridges Minister said it at Mahurrat ceremony of ‘Jaam’ cinema in the Dhaka Club, Ramna Green.
Miscreants on Sunday attacked Mahmudur Rahman in Kushtia. Calling it an untoward incident, Quader said that none could instruct anyone to commit such heinous act.
Surely a gang of miscreants conducted such attacks using the name of Chhatra League. The attackers are infiltrators. They must be punished as per law.
I have directed the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to search and arrest those who were involved in the ugly incident.
