Attack on Khaleda’s motorcade: AL leader sues 100

A case has been filed against 100 unnamed people, including BNP Chairperson’s Security Force (CSF) members, for attacking Awami League activists during Khaleda Zia’s election campaign for the city corporation polls. Zahirul Haque Zillu, president of the ward no. 26 unit of Awami League, filed the case with Tejgaon Police Station as a complainant on Monday night, Officer-in-charge of the police station Mazharul Islam said. A group of miscreants attacked BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s motorcade during her electioneering in the city’s Karwanbazar area in favour of her party-backed Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) mayoral candidate Tabith Awal on Monday afternoon. The complainant in the first information report (FIR) of the case stated that the attack on the ruling party leaders and activists was made to seriously injure and kill them, said Sub-inspector Ramzan Ali of the police station, told the news agency.
