DU Correspondent :
Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), Dhaka University (DU) unit, on Monday brought out a procession on the university campus protesting the attack on JCD DU unit Vice-President Sadiul Kabir Nirob.
The procession started from in front of the Central Shaheed Minar and ended at Teacher-Student Center (TSC) after parading different roads of the university.
About 50-60 JCD leaders and workers of the party
took part in the procession. They said that the JCD had been working in all the educational institutions to ensure academic atmosphere since its journey. But the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) men do not want good academic ambience.
The leaders said, the BNP is doing politics to ensure the safety of the people of Bangladesh. It is also fighting to restore the democracy and to eliminate the autocracy from the country.
They said that BCL had occupied all the university campuses and established their supremacy there. “They force the general students to commit unethical activities like extortion and abduction.”
It may be mentioned that JCD DU unit Vice-President Sadiul Kabir Nirob was clobbered by some unruly leaders and activists of BCL at the Shahbagh intersection on Sunday evening and he received severe injuries in the head and chest. He was sent to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University immediately. Later, he was admitted to Islami Bank Central Hospital.
