Attack aims to keep us from polls: Mirza Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Tuesday said that ruling Awami League men attacked his motorcade in Thakurgaon to keep the BNP away from the election race.
He said, “Awami terrorists have attacked our vehicles at a place called Danarhat. The terrorist led by an Awami League UP chairman fell on us, targeting to isolate us from the election. It is very regrettable and unwanted. The administration should bring the attackers to book.” He said, “We shall stay in polls race till the last moment. I asked my party men not to be trapped to the AL’s provocations.”
Mirza Fakhrul said it from Thakurgaon after escaping the attack on his motorcade there.
Meanwhile, BNP Standing Committee Member Nazrul Islam Khan alleged that miscreants attacked Fakhrul’s motorcade under protection. He said it to the journalists in the party’s Nayapaltan office in the capital.
BNP Senior Joint-Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi that attacks on BNP men have started after beginning of election campaign.
