Chittagong City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin said, there are outstanding of holding tax in the city and the amount is about Tk.300 crores and if the city dwellers fail to pay the holding taxes despite repeated reminders, warrant will be issued and property will be attached against the default.
He disclosed it while addressing the coordination meeting of tax officers, assistant tax officers, tax collections and license inspectors at CCC Auditorium on Sunday .
Chief Revenue Officer Dr Mustafizur Rahman presided over the meeting .
City mayor urged the concerned officers to deal the tax payees with good behaviour for realising the arrear taxes .
He also disclosed that our tax collectors will visit the houses of tax payers repeatedly and finally Corporation will be compelled to enforce attachment process if holders fail to pay.
