Media Cricket: ATN News clinches title beating GTV by four wickets

Satellite TV channel ATN News clinched the Pran Frooto-BSJA six-a-side Media Cricket Tournament title beating Gazi TV by four wickets in the final at the Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium here on Wednesday.
Senior Vice President of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Mahbubul Anam was the chief guest in the day’s final and later he distributed the prizes. He also announced prize money of Tk 25,000 for the champions ATN News and Tk 15,000 for the runners-up Gazi TV.
BCB Director cum Media Committee Chairman Jalal Younus, two former captains of national cricket team Minhajul Abedin Nannu and Aminul Islam Bulbul were also present as special guests.
Batting first in the day’s final, Gazi TV scored 59 for 5 in 6 overs with Shafiul making 16 runs. Rifat of ATN News grabbed two wickets for 12 runs.
In reply, ATN News reached their target scoring 63 for the loss of one wicket in just 3.5 overs with Khairuzzaman Rana making an unbeaten 29 and Rohit 21 runs.
Khiaruzzaman Rana, who was earlier adjudged the man of the match in the semifinal, named as the best player of the tournament to receive “Rouful Hasan Trophy”
Zahir of Independent TV received the highest scorer trophy while Atiq of Dhaka Tribune got the highest wicket taker trophy of the tournament.
Earlier in the semifinals, ATN News (69/1) reached the final eliminating Jamuna TV (68/3) by four wickets while Gazi TV (90/1) booked a seat for the final beating Dhaka Tribune (88/3), also by four wickets at the same venue Wednesday morning.
