Today is the first death anniversary of noted playwright Atiqul Haque Chowdhury. He died on June 17, 2013. He had been suffering from prostate cancer, diabetics and
kidney related diseases.
Atiqul Haque Chowdhury was born on December 15 in 1931 at Ulania village under Mehendiganj thana in Barisal. He started his working career by then Pakistan Betar in 1961. Later he worked in Pakistan TV and BTV. He worked as faculty member at Drama and Dramatics Department in Jahangirnagar University for 11 years. He lastly worked at Ekushey Television as its advisor.
Among his scripted and produced plays, Babar Kolom Kothai, Durbin Diye Dekhun, Circus Dekhun, Nil Nokshar Sondhan-e, Nijhum Dwip-er Sondhan-e, Mamar Balish Kothai, etc are mentionable.
