Awami League on Saturday nominated Atiqul Islam, former president of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), as mayoral runner in Dhaka North City Corporation by-polls scheduled for February 28. Awami League General Secretary and also Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader made the announcement after the party’s Parliamentary Board meeting held at Gono Bhaban on Saturday.
