At least as many minors killed as militants in Nasirpur

Four of the eight bodies recovered by the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit during ‘Operation Hitback’ in Moulvibazar last Thursday were minors.
One of them is thought to have been upto just three months old, whose gender proved impossible to verify for doctors. The body was recovered clinging to a woman, who also died. Police guess the woman was the baby’s mother.
The other three, all girls, were aged 2, 7, and 12, according to Dr Palash Roy of Moulvibazar 250-bed Hospital.
Doctors also identified another body as a female aged around 25. The two male dead militants were aged 30 and 35. DNA samples have been collected from the bodies.
Besides, a three-member committee has been form to conduct their autopsies. Limbs of at least 8 bodies were found scattered inside the militant den in Nasirpur, in Moulvibazar Sadar upazila. Police suspect that all of them were killed in suicide blasts on Wednesday.
