JS election-2018: Aspirant MP candidates lobbying to get nominations in Feni-3 constituency

At least 12 candidates are expecting nominations from the Awami League in Feni-3 parliamentary constituency comprising of Dagonbhuiyan and Sonagazi upazilas of the district.
 There are more than one candidates from the BNP in this seat but they are still almost silent . Voting winds in this seat have already started . Awami League and BNP are lobbying to get nomination and candidates are participating in social events in their area, telling them their position.
 On the other hand, who are getting Awami League and BNP tickets , it is in the discussion among the people .  
 The potential candidates of the other allies, including the Jatiya Party, are still watching the situation. Many former central leaders of Jubo League and BCL have been active in the field after getting the glimpse that the young leaders from Awami League will win the next election.
 As a possible candidate from Awami League, the names are discussed in the parliamentary elections are – Senior Joint General Secretary of United States Awami League and NRB Global Bank Chairman Nizam Chowdhury Jubo League Presidium Member Abul Bashar, Feni District Awami League Vice President and industrialist Akram Hossain Humayun, former BCL Vice-president Jahir Uddin Mahmud Lipton, Cultural Secretary of Central Women’s Awami League Rokeya Prachy, Jubo League’s Central Joint Secretary Manjurul Alam Shahin, District Jubo League President and Dagonbhuiyan Upazila Chairman Didarul Kabir Ratan, Dagonbhuiya Upazila Awami League General Secretary and Vice Chairman Joynal Abedin Mamun, Japan Awami League President Shamsul Alam Bhutto and Dhaka Metropolitan Northern Jubo League Organizing Secretary Shahadat Hossain Selim may be the candidate, said his followers.
Besides, the former military officer Masud Uddin Chowdhury can also get Awami League’s party ticket. The current independent MP Haji Rahim Ullah is running lobbying to get party support as Awami League candidate. Meanwhile, the names of several potential candidates from the BNP are also discussed.
Senior Joint General Secretary of United States Awami League and NRB Global Bank Chairman Nizam Chowdhury has a lot of contributions in organizing Awami League among the expatriate Bangladeshis particularly in the USA and he is an efficient organiser. Local elites said, the Prime Minister may consider him for this constituency.
They are : BNP Vice Chairman Abdul Awal Mintoo, former BNP office secretary Abdul Latif Jony, central BNP leader Brigadier General (Retd.) Nasir Uddin Ahmed, Joint Secretary of Swechchhasebak Dal Central Committee Sadaraj Zaman, executive committee member Sahna Akhter Shanu.
Meanwhile, BNP Vice Chairman Abdul Awal Mintoo will not choose whether to contest from the capital or not. Mintu’s younger brother Dagonbhuiya BNP President Akbar Hossain may also seek nomination for the seat. Akbar Hossain said that he and his family were victimized in jail for the family. She is hopeful that Begum Zia will nominate her family from this seat. Besides, One Bank Chairman Sayed Hossain Chowdhury, Chairman of Green Idea Group Anwar Hossain and Dagonbhuiyan’s businessman Abdul Mannan (Hira Mannan) are also being heard in the party’s leaders and workers. On the other hand, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Maqbool Ahmad and former president of Shibir Dr Fakhruddin Manik’s own village house is located at Dagonbhuiya, as his name is also considered as possible candidate.
 On the other hand, Ershad’s Advisor and District Jatiya Party Convenor Rintu Anwar is presently present in the field.
Apart from Jasad (Rob) Central Joint General Secretary Shahid Uddin Mahmud Swapan, Mayen Uddin from the Islamic Front Bangladesh and Dr. Haradhan Chakraborty are also on the field as a possible candidate. The candidates of Awami League and Jatiya Party are participating in various meetings and seminars locally as well as in social and religious ceremonies in their respective areas and relief distribution among the flood victims.
 BNP-Jamaat candidates are not publicly campaigning, but they are also active in monitoring the situation and getting party nomination. Jubo League Presidium Member Abul Bashar on the race to get nomination . AL leader said, in the last two elections, AL gave me ticket. In the last election, I withdrew the nomination at the request of the Prime Minister. I hope the Prime Minister will give me nomination again. Former student leader Zahir Uddin Mahmud Lipton said, “I was nominated for the last two elections. I want to nominate this year.
District Jubo League President and Dagonbhuiyan Upazila Chairman Didarul Kabir Ratan said, Our family is Awami family. My eldest brother was killed due to cause politics . I also got involved in BCL politics with the ideology of Bangabandhu from our student life.
And twice elected Dagonbhuiyan Upazila chairman for Awami League nomination. So we will seek nomination for the next parliamentary election. If you nominate the party, you will participate in the election. But I will work for the team who nominates them.
Rokeya Prachy, cultural activist of the Central Women’s Awami League, said, “My party is in Awami League family. At the direction of the party chief Sheikh Hasina, I have already done a lot of work in my constituency. I would like to nominate the leader, but I will work for the party who will nominate.
Dagonbhuiya Upazila Awami League General Secretary and Vice Chairman Joynal Abdin Mamun said, “Our family is the Awami family. My father took part in the war of liberation in the call of Bangabandhu. I am the freedom fighter’s son.
Moreover, in our family politics, our paths in Awami politics. Being nominated as Awami League candidate, I was twice elected Vice Chairman. We will seek the nomination of the AL in the next parliamentary elections.
The team will consider who will nominate them. I will work for the party nomination. However, the Honorable Prime Minister will request the grassroots leaders to evaluate the right candidate in the process.
Japan A’lig president Shamsul Alam Bhutto said, Japan is a genuine friend of Bangladesh. Always cooperate with Bangladesh, the country is cooperating with Bangladesh. If I am elected MP, then I can get more support from Japan.
About the nomination of the party, Abdul Latif Jony said, I have been with the party for any disaster ever since my student life. If someone is nominated for the honesty and integrity of the party, then BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and Senior Vice Chairman Tareque Rahman will nominate me.
Central BNP leader Brigadier General (Retd.) Nasir Uddin Ahmed said, That if BNP is involved in the next election, then I would like to nominate the party’s nomination. If the team gives a nomination then we will choose. I will work on behalf of someone else.
