ASP, SI among 8 sued over US citizen’s murder

A murder case filed yesterday in the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka on the charge of killing Bangladesh origin American citizen Safayet Mahbub Farayezi against eight persons including city’s Badda Zone Assistant Police Commissioner Toyasser Zahan.
Farayezi’s mother Shamimun Nahar filed case with the court on Wednesday while Metropolitan Magistrate Arafatul Rakib recorded the depositions of the complainant and kept it
pending to pass order.
Other accused persons are- Bhatara Police Station SI Moshiur, victim’s friend Suzana Tabassum Salam, Aftab, Shakhawat, Aswad, house owner Kamrul Haque and caretaker Ripon.
Complainant’s lawyer Sarwar Hossain told the media about the incident.
The case dossier says, complainant’s son came to the country on September 29, last year. Later, he was acquainted with the accused including Suzana. The victim also acquainted them with his mother. Sometimes, Suzana would go the residence of the victim to meet him. Meanwhile, the accused started drinking in the residence which the complainant happened to know it. At this she became angry and asked Suzana and others not to come to her residence.
At this the accused also became angry and they abused her and her son. They even assaulted the complainant and her son. Later, they phoned 999 for police help. Then police virtually controlled the situation and the dispute was somehow over.
Later, on February10, last year, the complainant and her son went to Gulshan and while they were returning the accused attacked on them. They were injured in the attack and got admitted in the Dhaka Medical College Hospital. After treatment they came back to their residence.
On the day at about 9 pm Police AC Toyasser Zahan and SI Moshiur came to the house of the complainant with Suzana. They asked the victim to maintain good relation and contact Suzana, otherwise, he will not be allowed stay in the country.
Later, the victim went out on December 25, last, to celebrate X-mass day and returned at a quarter to 12 pm, when Suzana, Aftab, Shakhawat and Aswad were with him which made the accused angry. At that time Suzana requested the victim to take her to her residence. The victim acceded to the request and went out with her and he did not return to the residence.
Finding no trace of the victim, the complainant went to Bhatara Police Station when AC Toasser told her that he did know the woman and also her address.
Later, on December 27, the complainant received a telephone call from the police station, when she knew her son’s body was recovered. Later, she was given the body of her son on January 1 of this year after autopsy.
