Inspector General of Bangladesh Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque said that the death of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mizanur Rahman was unquestionably a murder.
He made the disclosure to reporters while inspecting security measures at ‘Police Plaza’ shopping mall in city’s Gulshan area on Thursday.
IGP said a case has been filed over the death of ASP Mizanur Rahman of Highway Range.
Meanwhile, the autopsy has been completed and an investigation is underway. From the injury marks found in the body, it seems that it is an obvious case of murder. However, the identity of the murderers and motive behind the murder are yet to be known.
In a query about death of a trader by muggers in Dhaka amid tight security, the IGP said, crime rate can not be reduced to zero in a country of 16 crore people. The important thing is whether we are doing our best to identify the criminals.
