Asma Ahmad Masud in Dhaka now

Once popular news presenter of Bangladesh Television and Betar Asma Ahmad Masud, who is also an expatriate in Canada, is now staying in Dhaka. She lives 11 months in Canada while rest one month in Bangladesh.
There is Bangla service in BBC and Voice of America but in CBC (Canada Broadcasting Service), there is no Bangla service. For this reason, Asma Ahmad Masud has taken initiative to launch Bangla service in CBC.
Asma Ahmad Masud worked as a popular news presenter on Bangladesh Television and Betar from 1985 to 2002. Her father Inam Ahmad was noted filmmaker. But she had no intention about acting. Coincidentally she started her career as a news presenter. Besides news presentation, she was also worked as a trainer of National Mass Communication Institute. Asma along with Iqbal Karim Hasnu and Sumon Rahman have already applied to CBC in this regard. She is expected to launch Bangla service soon. December 13 was her birthday. Asma is passing conjugal life with husband Nurul Masud Jamil and two sons -Tahmid and Mashrur. Asma is giving teaching on urbanisation in a school in Canada now. Sylhet is her hometown in Bangladesh.
