Asif Iqbal started his acting career through BFDC’s Notun Mukher Sondhane in 1991-92. Basically he was a cricket player of Kushtia district team. He was a medium pace bowler. Then his mother dreamt her son would share the screen with noted film actress Shabana in big screen. Though Asif was a cricket player but he had an attachment with cultural arena of Kushtia during that time. Today’s popular poet, actor and director Kochi Kondokar gave him money and paper cutting to apply in BFDC’s Notun Mukher Sondhane. Kochi Khondokar also inspired him to acting well. One day, Asif Iqbal got a call to show his acting in front of Alamgir, Shabana and among others. In the meantime, he got an offer to play the role of younger brother of Rubel in AJ Rana’s movie Mohaguru, which was released on July 2 in 1993. Later, his mother’s dream came into true. Asif Iqbal played the role of son of Shabana in Abul Bashar Chunnu directed movie Ghor Duar, which was released on April 21 in 1995.
He along with his mother and others enjoyed the movie in cinema hall. While recalling the memory, Asif Iqbal said, “To fulfil my mother’s dream, I came into film industry. Still today I can remember that day when I along with mother and other family members went to cinema hall to watch my acted movie Ghor Duar. My mother cried with joy to watch me on the screen along with Shabana Madam in the movie. This could not be happened if Kochi Khondokar Bhai co-operated me.
I got huge loves from the people of the country for acting in movies. Still I am getting their loves. Its Allah’s blessing for me.”
Today is Asif Iqbal’s birthday. During the pandemic time, he will pass the day along with wife Maksuda Aktar and only son Alif Iqbal. Asif Iqbal also acted in 100 movies including Dojjal Shashuri, Ke Apon Ke Por, Eksonge Chhilo, Mukhomukhi, Nispap Munna, Humkir Mukhe, Rastar Chhele, Nosto, Khyapa Basu, Aamar Swapno Aamar Songsar, Ek Joban, Noyoner Kajol, Pitamatar Amanot, etc. Asif Iqbal also acted opposite Ishita in Kabir Anwar directed drama serial Probashi Porijon. He also came into discussion to perform as model in several numbers of popular songs like in Bangla movie Bondhu Chhara Prem Hoina.
