Four boys’ singles quarterfinal matches of the Bengal Plastic Asian U-14 Series Tennis competition were decided on the third day (Wednesday) at National tennis court complex in the city’s Ramna.
On the day’s boys’ singles quarterfinal matches, Maxwell Hidward (retired) of Hong Kong beat Sunny Nuruzzaman of Bangladesh 6-4, 4-0, Emon Islam of Bangladesh defeated Rakesh Ratana Singham of Sri Lanka 5-7, 7-6, 6-4, Rakib Hossain of Bangladesh outplayed his compatriot Shawon Passi 6-0, 6-1 and Ranjirt Sarkar of Bangladesh outclassed his compatriot Dainan Sheikh 5-7, 7-6, 6-4 to move to the semi-final.
In the girls’ singles semi-finals, Ge O Chui of Korea beat her compatriot Uin Jee Jung 6-0, 6-0, while Korean Young In Reo defeated Srabosti Dev of Bangladesh 6-0, 6-0 to move into the final.
