The eighth Asian International Trade Fair has commenced in the city.
The five-day fair was inaugurated on Wednesday at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre.
“The fair will showcase essential products and services from across Asia,” Meherun N Islam, chief of CEMS Bangladesh, the organisers of the event, told the press during the inauguration.
The fair will pave the way to bring products and services of Asian countries under one roof and strengthen business and mutual ties, she hoped.
Meherun said over 100 companies from 10 countries had put up stalls at the expo and were showcasing products like electronics, communications technology, food and beverages, healthcare, cosmetics, furniture, art and handcrafts and various services.
The fair will remain open from 11am to 9pm till June 22.
