GM Ziaur Rahman earned 3.5 points after finishing of the 6th round games in the open section of the Asian Continental Chess Championship is now being held at Al-Ain in United Arab Emirates.
GM Abdullah Al Rakib and GM Enamul Hossain Razib of Bangladesh Navy earned 3 points each. In women section, WIM Shamima Akter Liza earned 3 points.
The 6th round games of the both sections were held on Friday last.
In 6th round games of open section, Zia beat FM Tologontegin Semety of Kyrgyzstan, Rakib lost to GM Koneru Humpy of India and Razib lost to GM Vakhidov Jahongir of Uzbekistan.
In women section, Liza lost to WGM Soumya Swaminathan of India.
The 7th round games of both sections started yesterday (Saturday) from evening in Bangladesh time.
