State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Ashraf Ali Khan Khosru has firmly said he would go for ‘zero’ tolerance against corruption in his ministry, pledging to perform his job with hard-work, sincerity and positive mindset for the betterment of the people.
“I will work for the welfare of the people, but any case of corruption will not be tolerated in the ministry of fisheries and livestock,” he said while addressing a meeting after taking charge of the ministry on Thursday at the secretariat here.
Honesty, transparency and accountability should be opted as cornerstones of our job as the people have reposed huge confidence on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Ashraf said.
The state minister also warned against any attempt to pursue illegal acts of serving interests.
Later, the state minister in a view exchange meeting urged the officials and employees of the ministry to work together as a team for delivering better services in the ministry.
Fisheries and Livestock Secretary Raisul Alam Mondol, Additional Secretary Wasi Uddin, Bangladesh Fisheries Development Corporation (BFDC) Chairman Dildar Ahmed, Additional Secretary Subol Bose Moni, Director General of the Department of Fisheries (DoF) Abu Sayeed Mohammad Rashedul Haq, Director General of the Department of Livestock Services (DLS) Hiresh Ranjan Bhowmik, Bangladesh Fisheries Research Institute(BFRI) Director General Dr Yahya Mahmud and Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute (BLRI) Director General Dr Nathuram Sarker, among others, attended the meeting.
