The government has appointed Md Ashadul Islam as the new Secretary of the Bank and Financial Institutions Division (BFID) of the Ministry of Finance.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notice about his appointment on Sunday.
Islam will take up the post vacated by Md Eunusur Rahman, who went on retirement on 16 August.
Prior to his transfer to BFID, under the Ministry of Finance, he was serving as the Secretary for the Ministry of Youth and Sport.
Islam, a member of the 1985 Bangladesh Civil Service or BCS 1984, began his career in the admin cadre.
He did his Masters in Sociology, University of Dhaka and Master in Government Financial Management, University of Ulster, the United Kingdom (UK).
Islam also completed certificate course on occupational Health and Safety, City of Bristol College, UK, Managing at the Top, University of Bradford, UK, Public policy, service delivery and negotiation, Duke University, USA.
During his service in public administration, he gathered vast experience in management of field administration, implementation of Annual Development Programme (ADP), including social safety net, local level planning, budgeting and delivering public services.
