Debut audio album of promising folk singer Shamima Akter, known as ‘Asha Lata’ titled Shyam-er Premey has been launched at a function held at the traditional Lalon Academy in Kushtia recently.
Produced by Dhaka’s audio production house, Somporko the audio CD contains seven songs where most of them are Lalon songs.
Asha Lata started her musical career in 2008 and visited India for several times. She took part in different stage shows in different districts of the country.
Last year, when a delegation of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) and DUJ visited Kushtia Lalon Academy led by the leaders of the two organizations including Monjurul Ahsan Bulbul and Shaban Mahmood, Asha Lata enthralled the team by rendering Lalon songs along with other singers.
While talking about her solo album Asha Lota told this correspondent, “I want to go long way with the blessings of the listeners and I have a plan to take higher education on music.”
