Eminent artist Professor Mahmudul Haque has been put on life support. Noted director Animesh Aich gave a post in social media about the artist’s deteriorating health condition. He wrote, “Dear
professor and renowned artist Mahmudul Haque is currently put on life support. This has truly broken me apart.” The artist obtained a master’s degree in Fine Arts from Tsukuba University in 1984 and was a teacher at the Department of Printmaking of the Faculty of Fine Arts in University of Dhaka for decades.
He was also the Director General of Bangladesh National Museum and Chief Coordinator of Asian Art Biennale Bangladesh. For his excellence and contribution in the art arena, Mahmudul Haque was honoured with many prestigious awards.
