An artist camp and children’s drawing competition were held here on Sunday marking the 69th birth anniversary of internationally-acclaimed Bangladeshi artist and freedom fighter Shahabuddin Ahmed.
Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) and National Committee to Observe 69th Birthday Anniversary of artist Shahabuddin jointly observed the programmes at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Dhaka University.
Prominent artists of the country participated in the camp.
Many students of various educational institutions of the capital participated in the drawing competition held on Fine Art premises.
The topics of the competition were “Our Liberation War” and “Our Liberation War and Shahabuddin Ahmed”.
Ashraful Alam Paplu, director of Department of Fine Art, BSA inaugurated the competition.
While addressing the programme, he said, “The 69th birthday of Shahabuddin Ahmed who represents Bangladesh through his art works, is on 11th September. The Artist camp and the drawing competition were organised to present his life and work to the new generation.”
