Annual art exhibition of Dhaka University’s Ceramics Department began on Monday at Zainul Gallery of Fine Art Faculty on the campus.
A total of 80 art works from 42 students of Ceramics Department are being displayed in the exhibition. Eight students were awarded for the best art works on the first day of the expo.
DU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the exhibition as the chief guest with Chairperson of Ceramics Department Associate Professor Devasish Paul in the chair.
While addressing the programme, Prof Akhtaruzzaman said pottery is an important element of civilization.
The elite people of the society should come forward to develop and excel this industry, he said, adding, “The students of Ceramics Department will be able to represent this industry in a more modern way with their artistic qualities and creativity.”
