Arsalanur emerges winner in American Cup Golf Tournament

Arsalanur Rahman of Kurmitola Golf Club emerged as the winner in the three-day 34th American Cup Golf Tournament that ended at Kurmitola Golf Club on Friday.
Brigadier General (retd) Mohammad Hossain Sadeque, also of Kurmitola Golf Club, became senior winner while Bae Sung Youn of South Korea the ladies winner of the meet.
Chief of Air Staff Air Marshall Muhammad Enamul Bari was present at the closing ceremony held at the golf club’s pool side as the chief guest.
US Ambassador to Bangladesh Dan W Mozena, and Chairman of American Cup Golf Committee and President of the meet’s organising partner Chevron Bangladesh Limited, Geoffrey Strong, also spoke on the occasion.
Captain of Kurmitola Golf Club Brigadier General QM Quamrul Islam, Chairman of the Tournament Committee of Kurmitola Golf Club Brig Gen (retd) Abidur Reza Khan, CEO of Kurmitola Golf Club Col (retd) Sardar Hassan Kabir and Managing Director of the meet’s associate partner Cosmos Group Enayetullah Khan were among others, present on the occasion.
Chevron Bangladesh continued its long tradition of co-sponsoring the three-day event along with a host of local and international business organisations that include Standard Chartered Bank, Mobil, Cosmos Group, Halliburton, Weatherford, Airtel, FedEx, Pan Pacific Sonargaon, Orogenic Resources, Radisson Hotel, Dhaka Regency, Ford, Nescafe, Polar, Securex, Dragon Air, Etihad and Emirates.
Some 581 golfers took part in this year’s event.
