Madhukhali Mahila Parishadararnges a human chain and protest meeting at Madhukhali Railgate area of Dhaka-Khulna Highway on Saturday demanded justice for the abduction and murder of Tanni, an eighth grade student in Madhukhali.
Tania’s father Md. Suraiya Salam, President of the Women’s Council, spoke at the human chain.. Zillur Rahman Mollah, Milli Islam of Mahila Parishad, Samshunnahar, Shukla Bhowmik, Headmaster Dilkhush Ara Begum, Workers Party leader Abu Saeed Mia, Press Club members Md. Nazulrul Islam, Shahjahan Helal, teacher Rashekul Amin, 8th class student Tanni’s classmate Lata Khatun and others spoke in the programme.
The news was published in the first column of the National page in The Daily New Nation on June 12 under the headline “Schoolgirl’s body recovered four days after abduction in Madhukhali”. On the same day Madhukhali police Tanni’s father said. Zillur Rahman filed a case against Sabbir and a man for murder and abduction and an attempt to divert the incident.
