Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Bahubal Upazila in Habiganj Jashimuddin has arrested Upazila Engineer of Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) Mohiuddin by misusing his power with a view to hide his malpractice on Wednesday, it is alleged .
It is complained that the said UNO has been using a house of abandoned property illegally as his residence though he has a new house and he influenced local union parishad chairmen and took advantage .
When contracted UNO Jashimuddin said, he ordered to arrest him to ease the situation as Mohiuddin beat an employee of his office and many employees protest it . He denied his involvement in any malpractice . The UNO brought allegation against him and said ,he has informed the matter to the LGED Chief Engineer. The local administration is trying to negotiate the matter.
