Khairunoor Siddiqua , grand daughter of the founder of Musbiah Darbar Sharif Saint Sheikh Ahmadul Hoque Siddiqui protested the arrest of Abu Nasar Gunnu for alleged suspect in killing of SP Babul Akhter’s wife by law enforcers recently.
She also blamed police for taking bribe from the rival group of the Darbar committee to arrest the Gunnu aimed at involving him in Mahmuda murder case . Local decoration trader Abu Nasar Gunner is the incumbent General Secretary of the Musabiah Darbar Sharif. This was disclosed by Khairunoor Siddiqua on Thursday evening at a press conference held at Chittagong Press Club hall.
Mentionable that there are two rival managing committee of Musabiah Darbar in Farhadabad village under Hathazari thana . One committee led by elder daughter of Musabiah, Shamsur Monira Siddiqua and other committee led by younger sister Hamidunessa Siddiqua .
Abu Nasar Gunnus is the General Secretary of elder daughter led committee and Taiyubullah is the President of same committee , the press meet was told. Abu Nasar was arrested by DB police on Tuesday midnight last from mazar premises.
Later at a press meet Additional Police Commissioner told the journos that Gunnu was a former Shibir cadre and now involved with militant activities and he was arrested on specific informations.
The press meet at CPC was also told that the rival mazar committee lodged several cases before the courts and these cases now under investigation of PIB. Khairun Noor Siddiqua told in the meet that Abu Nasar Gunnu never involved with the shibir politics and his elder brother is a bonafide freedom fighter.
In last UP election, his elder brother worked in support of AL nominee Idrish Ali Talukder in Farhadabad union of Hathazari upazila. Khairunoor Siddiqua read out the written statement before the journalists. Among others two srons of Gunnu and the joint secretary of Darbar sharif Md. Abdul Karim was present in the press meet.
