Federation Cup Rugby: Army take on Dhaka Commerce Rugby Club in opener today

Bangladesh Army will take on Dhaka Commerce Rugby Club in the opening match of the Diamond Melamine Federation Cup Rugby Competition at Physical Education College Ground in Mohammadpur today. The match kicks-off at 10.00 am.
Regarding the tournament, a press conference was held at the conference room of Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday.
Vice-President of Bangladesh Rugby Union (BRU) and Chairman of the Tournament Committee Barrister Anisuzzaman, Vice-President of BRU Abdullah-Al-Zahir Shapan, General Secretary of BRU Mousum Ali, Joint-Secretary of the Union Sayeed Ahmed, Secretary of the Tournament Committee Tariquzzaman Nannu were present at the conference, among others.
A total of six teams splitting into two groups are taking part in the two-day long competition. Bangladesh Army, Satirtha Rugby Club, Dhaka Commerce Rugby Club are in Group-A, while Chittagong Brothers Union Limited, Flame Boys Rugby Club, Saint Gregory’s School and College are in Group-B.
Top one team from each group will face each other in the final on December 3.
The budget of the tournament is Taka one lakh and fifty thousand while Diamond Melamine, the sponsor of the meet has given Taka one lakh to Bangladesh Rugby Union.
Bangladesh Rugby Union will bear rest of the expenditure from its own fund.
