On the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Mujibur Rahman and winter training, the Bangladesh Army has distributed medicines and blankets in Rangpur and provided free medical services. It was held at noon on Wednesday (January 13) at the Collectorate School and College in Rangpur. The program was organized by the 8th Infantry Division of the Bangladesh Army and the 72nd Infantry Brigade of Rangpur Cantonment. It provided medical advice and free medicine to women and children of different ages as well as distributed blankets among the cold-stricken.
Commanding Officer of the 72nd Infantry Brigade (30 Veer) of the Army inaugurated the day-long healthcare and medicine distribution program. Colonel Md. Hedayetul Islam, Lieutenant Colonel ABM Belayet Hossain of 82 Infantry Brigade (30 Veer), Captain Mir Ali Ekram, Lieutenant Tanzim Fahim Himel, Senior Warrant Officer, Sheikh Habibur Rahman Habib and Senior Warrant Officer Mohammad were also present.
A four-member medical team from the army provided free medicine to about five hundred men, women and children, as well as people of different ages with advanced health care and various tests. Later, blankets were distributed among the helpless people from different parts of the city.
Meanwhile, most of the people expressed satisfaction over getting free medical services and medicines from the members of the army. Amena Bewa of New Adarshpara area of the city said, “I am very happy to get medical services and free medicine from the army. With a lot of sincerity the doctors listened to my problem and prescribed medicine.
