Army reign Korea Cup Taekwondo meet

The three day long Korea Cup Taekwondo concluded on Sunday at Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium at Mirpur. This year’s competition was jointly organized by Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation and South Korean Embassy in Dhaka.
Bangladesh Army became champions while Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) finished as runners up in this year’s Senior Men’s Championship.
In the Senior Women’s Section, Bangladesh Army became champions and runners-up spot was taken by the BJMC.
Udayan School and College became champion in Junior Men’s Division while runners-up spot was jointly shared by South Point School and College, Baridhara Branch and Gazipur District Sports Association.
In the junior girl’s category, Akij Foundation School and College emerged as champion and runners up was jointly shared by Shaheed Bir Uttam Lt. Anwar Girls School and College and Sirajganj District Sports Association.
Asaduzzaman Noor, Minister of Cultural Affairs Ministry distributed the prizes among the winners as chief guest.
The closing ceremony was chaired by Kazi Morshed Hossain Kamal, President of Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation. Other officials including Vice President of the Federation, Nazrul Islam Babul and General Secretary Mahmudul Islam Rana were also present on the occasion.
Some 800 taekwondo players from different districts, associations, universities, colleges, schools, boards and corporations from across the country will take part in the meet, organized by Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation.
