Father-in-law allegedly beat up an army man over a family feud at Puthia upazila in Rajshahi on Saturday.
The victim is identified as Faruk Hossain, 28, son of Okaa Mandal of the upazila. He is now undergoing treatment at Upazila Health Complex with injuries.
The accused father-in-law is Mugol Ali, 50. Faruk’s wife Sompa Khatun, 20, brother-in-law Chanchol, 30, and his mother-in-law Ambia Begum, 45 also took part in beating.
Victim Faruk said, he along with his wife Sampa resided in a rented house in sadar upazila. In morning, they both locked into an altercation over family feud.
Later, Sampa informed the matter to her parents over phone. Hearing this, her parents started hue and cry coming there and at one stage, all of they started beating the army man.
A written complaint will be lodged with the police station, said the army man.
Contacted, Rezaul Islam, officer in charge of Puthia police station, after getting allegation from the victim, legal step would be taken in this connection as soon as possible.
