Army in dist towns anytime after Dec 15: CEC

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda said that members of armed forces will be deployed across the country anytime after December 15 in order to assist police in maintaining law and order situation for holding a free and fair national election, which is scheduled to be held on December 30.
He said, the members of armed forces will arrive in district towns to find their stay and transport facilities.
“After December 15, teams of Army will meet police officials in districts. They (Army) will work in coordination with police,” KM Nurul Huda said at a briefing session for top officials of police at Nirbachan Bhaban in the city yesterday.
The CEC said, police will help them find accommodation and transportation facilities.
He said, executive magistrates and police will help them by giving required information.
Election Commissioners, Inspector General of Police, Metropolitan Police Commissioners, Deputy Inspector Generals and Superintendent of Police from districts were present in the briefing.
