Bangladesh Army emerged champions of the Men’s Division of the Walton Home Appliance Victory Day Rugby Competition when they blanked Flame Boys Rugby Club by 19-0 points in the final at the Paltan Maidan on Saturday.
In the Women’s Division, Flame Rugby Club became champions when they beat Kabi Nazrul College Rugby Club by 37-5 points in the final at the same venue on the same day.
After the final matches freedom fighter Md Tajmur Ali distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest while Additional Director of RB Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, Administrator of Bangabandhu National Stadium Md Yahia, Senior Principal Officer of RB Group Mehraf Hossain Asif were present as special guests.
General Secretary of Bangladesh Rugby Federation Mousum Ali, Joint-Secretary of the Federation Syed Ahmed, Secretary of the Tournament Committee (Men’s Division) Md Sirajul Islam, Secretary of the Tournament Committee (Women’s Division) Parvin Putul were present at the time.
