Bangladesh Army and Flame Boys Rugby Club moved in the final of the Men’s Division of the Walton Home Appliance Victory Day Rugby Competition on Friday.
Meanwhile, Flame Rugby Club and Kabi Nazrul College Rugby Club reached the final of the Women’s Division on the same day.
The two finals will be held today at the Paltan Maidan.
Earlier, freedom fighter Md Altab Hossain inaugurated the rugby meet by releasing the balloons as the chief guest while Additional Director of RB Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, Sports Ambassador of Walton Jobera Rahman Linu were with him as special guests.
General Secretary of Bangladesh Rugby Federation Mousum Ali, Secretary of the Tournament Committee (Men’s Division) Md Sirajul Islam, Secretary of the Tournament Committee (Women’s Division) Parvin Putul were present at the time.
In the day’s matches of the Men’s Division, Bangladesh Army blanked Imperial Rugby Club by 47-0 points, overpowered Mirpur Rugby Club by 47-0 points while Flame Boys Rugby Club overwhelmed Mirpur Rugby Club by 17-0 points, defeated Imperial Rugby Club by 22-5 points at the Paltan Maidan.
In the day’s matches of the Women’s Division, Flame Rugby Club beat Kabi Nazrul College Rugby Club by 35-5 points, blanked Mirpur Rugby Club by 42-0 points while Kabi Nazrul College Rugby Club defeated Central Women’s College Rugby Club by 10-5 points at the same venue.
