Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed will leave here on Monday night to visit the United Nations’ Peacekeeping Mission areas in Congo and South Sudan.
During his eight-day visit, General Aziz will inspect Bangladesh Army contingents deployed as part of the UN Peacekeeping forces there, an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) release said here today.
Among other activities, the Army chief will hold several meetings with top leaders working in those missions including force commander and the deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General (SRSG) in Congo and will exchange views with the Governor of Ituri province.
He will also meet the SRSG, force commander, direct mission support and chief of defence force during his visit to South Sudan, the release added.
General Aziz Ahmed is expected to return home on April 27.
