Bangladesh Army emerged as the champions of the Men’s Division of the Walton National Rugby Competition defeating Chittagong district team by 51-0 points in the final at the Paltan Maidan on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Dhaka district team became champions of the Women’s Division beating Narail district team by 5-0 points in the final at the same venue on the same day.
Nadim Mahmud of Bangladesh Army was adjudged the Player of the Tournament in the Men’s Division while Nisha of Narail district team was adjudged the Player of the Tournament in the Women’s Division.
After the final matches, First Senior Additional Director of Walton FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest while First Senior Additional Director (Legal Department) of Walton Md Anisur Rahman was with him as the special guest.
Senior AGM of Walton Mehrab Hossain Asif, General Secretary of Bangladesh Rugby Federation (BRF) Mousum Ali, Joint-Secretary of BRF Mojibur Rahman, Secretary of the Tournament Committee (Men’s Division) Sayeed Ahmed and Secretary of the Tournament Committee (Women’s Division) Parvin Putul were present at the time.
