Army Aviation reaches relief materials to poor

Bangladesh Army Aviation Group has been continuing its operations during these general holidays in the wake of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) spread as it has been airlifting relief materials for the poor across the country alongside taking the emergency medical equipment for the cantonments.
According to an ISPR press release, around 10 tonnes of food items were airlifted from Dhaka Cantonment’s Army Aviation to Sylhet on Wednesday via helicopter for distributing those among the poor and destitute families under the supervision of Sylhet Cantonment.
The press release said country’s mobile phone operator Banglalink provided these food materials in the first phase under the management of Sena Kalyan Sangstha for distributing those under the supervision of Bangladesh Army.
 Once Bangladesh Army was deployed to prevent the spread of Coronavirus in the country, Army Aviation has airlifted a total of 43 tonnes of medicines, masks, PPEs, and other emergency medical equipment to various Cantonments since March 26 under the directives of Army Chief General Aziz Ahmed and also under the supervision of Army Aviation Group Commander. Besides. the Army Aviation Group airlifted necessary ration and medicines for the Army and BGB camps in the remote hilly areas of the CHT region alongside carrying relief materials for the locals of those areas. Apart from this, more than 1,000 army personnel was flown from various parts of the country to their work places through Army Aviation airplanes to prevent and control COVID-19.
Three MI helicopters and one C-295 plane have remained prepared for rendering emergency servicesround the clock during this period. Apart from this, two Army helicopters are also there for airlifting patients on urgent basis from any part of the country.
