Members of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) yesterday arrested an arms trader with three Light Guns (LG) from city’s Bakalia area.
The arrestees were identified as Mostak Ahmed, 50, hailed from Eidgah upazila of Cox’s Bazar.
A team of Bakalia police on secret information arrested Mostak and recovered three firearms after searching his body at Karnaphuli Bridge area under Bakali thana, said Mohammad Mohsin, Officer in Charge (OC) of Bakalia thana.
“Mostak brought the firearms in the city to sell it to a timber trader of Comilla,” OC said adding that a case was filed in this connection while police is trying to nab the timber trader.
