Members of Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested an alleged arms trader in possession of a foreign-made pistol, one magazine and five rounds of bullet from Dharmatala Road in Khanpur area of the city early Thursday.
The arrestee was identified as Mir Rasel, son of Mir Anwar Hossain, a resident of Natun Hajiganj ACI Panir Kal area of
Siddhirganj. Mazharul Islam, sub-inspector of district DB police, said on secret information, a team of police conducted a drive in the area and arrested Rasel in the dead of night.
They also recovered a foreign-made pistol, one magazine and five rounds of bullet from his possession.
A case was filed in this connection.
