“Neo JMB” member Hadisur Rahman Sagor, arrested for supplying arms for Holey Artisan Bakery attack made confessional statement before a Dhaka court yesterday.
Magistrate Golam Nabi of Dhaka CMM Court recorded the confessional
statement of Sagor for about six hours since 12 noon yesterday.
Humayun Kabir, Inspector of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and Investigation Officer (IO) of the case, produced Sagor in the court on Thursday.
According to the CTTC official, Sagor supplied arms and explosives used in the Holey Artisan Bakery attack in Dhaka’s Gulshan area that left 20 dead, including 17 foreigners in 2016.
Sagor is said to be a brother-in-law of Nurul Islam Marzan, a top “Neo- JMB” operative who was also a planner of the café siege.
Earlier on March 22, a team of police arrested Sagor, 36, from Shibganj upazila in Bogura and handed him over to the CTTC unit. He was placed under seven-day remand hours after his arrest.
