Md Ariful Islam of Bangladesh clinched gold medal in the 50 metre breaststroke event of Asian Youth Development Project (AYDP) Swimming Competition at Doha in Qatar recently. Md Ariful Islam took 32.43 seconds to gain gold. A total of 32 participants from different countries participated in that event.
Olympic Council of Asia, Qatar Olympic Committee and FINA jointly arranged the Asian Youth Camp at Doha in Qatar from June 18 to June 28.
Md Ariful Islam, Moriom Akhter of Bangladesh took part in the swimming competition while Member of Bangladesh Swimming Federation Md Abdul Hamid participated as a coach in the camp.
