BSS, Dhaka :
The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 on Tuesday set today to start hearing the prosecution arguments in the trial of Syed Md Qaiser, charged with committing crimes against humanity. The tribunal however, allotted 30 minutes to defence to conclude the cross-examination of the investigation officer (IO). As the defence did not submit any list of defence witnesses (DWs), the prosecution will start presenting their arguments right after that. “You must have to conclude the cross-examination by 11.30 am starting from 11 am. You will not get even an extra second. Leave your time wasting tricks. These tricks can go on in magistrate courts, leave these for there,” said Justice Obaidul Hassan, chairman of the three-member panel of ICT-2 to defence counsel Abdus Subhan Tarafder. Advocate Abdus Subhan Tarafder and SM Shahjahan, counsels for Qaiser, cross-examined IO ASM Monowara Begum for the fourth day, but like earlier occasions, the advocates asked her number of irrelevant questions, making the tribunal to refuse to record those.
