Ramna Batamul blast: Argument adjourned

A Dhaka court on Thursday adjourned the argument of the case in connection with the Ramna Batamul carnage till March 9 (Sunday).
Judge Ruhul Amin of Dhaka’s Second Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court heard the arguments for three consecutive days and passed the order.
On the day, Advocate Mizanur Rahman placed arguments on behalf of his client and accused Arif Hasan Sumon.
During the traditional celebrations of Bangla New year 1408 (April 14, 2001) in the capital’s Ramna Batamul area, a blast killed 10 people and injured more than 50 others.
Nine of the accused, including Mufti Hannan, are now in custody, while the remaining five, including Maulana Tajuddin, brother of BNP leader Abdus Salam Pintu, are absconding. All the 14 accused were members of Huji.
