France reached the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup Russia 2018 as they defeated Argentina by 4-3 goals in their Round of 16 match at the Kazan Arena in Russia on Saturday. Argemtina were thus eliminated.
The first half was locked 1-1.
Griezmann of France put his team ahead by a spot-kick in the 13th minute of the match.
Angel Di Mariya of Argentina equalized the margin by a spectacular, forceful 30-yarder in the 41st minute of the clash.
Gabriel Mercado of Argentina made it 2-1 in the 48th minute of the game.
Benjamin Pavard of France got a cross pass from his teammate Hernandez and Pavard made no mistake to put the ball into the net (2-2) in the 57th minute.
Mbappe of France broke the dead-lock by scoring a goal in the 64th minute (3-2).
After four minutes, Mbappe got a through pass near the goalpost from his teammate Oliviera Giriod and Mbappe shot calmly into the goalbar (4-2).
Sergio Aguera of Argentina reduced the margin by header in the 3rd minute of the injury time.
