Arefin Siddique stresses on flower cultivation for economic benefit

Dhaka University (DU) Vice-chancellor (VC) Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique on Monday underscored the need for increasing flower cultivation for economic benefit.
The DU VC came up with the observation while inaugurating a day-long Ikebana, dry flower and handicraft shows by artist Rina Rahman, was held at Bangladesh National Commission for UNESCO (BNCU) conference hall, Banbeis Bhaban here.
The National Association of UNESCO Clubs in Bangladesh organized the programme in cooperation with Bangladesh National Commission for UNESCO.
With Professor Masuda M Rashid Chowdhury, President of UNESCO Club, was in the chair, the function was also addressed, among others, by BNCU’s secretary Md Monjur Hossain, Secretary -General of the UNESCO Club Mahbubuddin Chowdhury and artist Rina Rahman.
Chief Editor and Managing Director of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Abul Kalam Azad attended the closing ceremony in the afternoon and distributed the prize and certificate to artist Rina Rahman.
