Archer Shamoly to face Gabriela tonight

Bangladeshi lone archer Shamoly Ray will face upper- ranked Gabriela Bayardo of Mexico in the women’s individual elimination round of 32 in the 31st Olympic Games Archery at Sambodromo in Rio Wednesday midnight.
Shamoly, who was placed 53rd among 63 competitors scoring 600 in the individual ranking round of the Games Archery on the opening day (Friday), will have a tough task of facing 12th ranked Gabriela Bayardo in the individual elimination round at 12:39 am (BST).
Gabriela was placed 12th scoring 648 in the individual ranking round.
Archer Shamoly Ray was the first athlete of the seven-member Bangladesh team that began the campaign in the ongoing Rio Olympics on the very first day.
Country’s celebrated golfer Siddikur Rahman will compete in Bangladesh’s most prospective event of men’s individual stroke play-the first round on Thursday (Aug 11) at 4:30 pm (BST).
Swimmer Mahfizur Rahman Sagar will participate in his lone Olympics event-men’s 50-meter free style heats, also on Thursday (Aug 11) at 10 pm (BST).
Another swimmer, Sonia Akhter, will compete in women’s 50-meter free style heats on Friday (Aug 12) at 10 pm (BST), athlete Shirin Akhter will contest the women’s 100-meter sprint heats, also on Friday (Aug 12) at 8:55 pm (BST).
Athlete Mesbah Ahmed will take part in his only event of the men’s 100-meter sprint heats on Saturday (Aug 13) at 6:30 pm, (BST).
Earlier on Monday, Bangladeshi ace shooter and the 2014 Commonwealth Games silver medalist Abdullah Hel Baki was eliminated from the qualification round of his favorite Olympics event, the men’s 10-meter air rifles, at the Olympic Shooting Centre in Rio.
Baki finished 25th among the 50 competitors scoring 621.2 in six qualifying series.
In his first Olympics appearance, Bangladeshi celebrated shooter Baki scored 103.8+ 104.0+105.4+103.6+ 100.6 +103.8 = 621.2 to be eliminated from the qualification round.
Italian shooter Noccola Campriani topped the list scoring 630.2 to qualify for the eight-man final round. Indian celebrated shooter Abhinav Bindra finished 7th to qualify for the finals scoring 625.5.
