Archaeology Dept freshers’ reception at CoU

The freshers’ reception programme of Archaeology Department (2013-14) of Comilla University (CoU) was held with a befitting manner on Thursday. To receive the freshers, the department took different programs including a discussion and cultural event. The event started with a colorful rally.
Prof Dr Ali Ashraf, Vice-Chancellor of CoU was the chief guest of the program. He expected that this department will go ahead in the field of Archaeology and will bring the ancient history of Bangladesh into light. He said that the university administration will try their level best to furnish this department with all educational necessities.
Comilla University has 17 departments of which Archaeology, Pharmacy, and Finance & Banking have been started functioning from this year. There are many archaeological sites including Shalbon Bihara, Maynamoti Musium, Vuj Bihara, Anando Bihara and so on beside the university. Concerning these, the university started the Archaeology department. This department has now 29 students and two teachers.
The students of this department dream to be an archaeologist and hope to do something for the country.
Students’ advisor Md Ahsanullah, Proctor Md. Ainul Haque, Secretary of Teachers’ Association of the university Md. Mehidi Hasan and other teachers and journalists were present at the program.
