The 20th Annual General Meeting of Aramit Cement Limited, one of the reputed cement manufacturers of the country, situated at Kalurghat Heavy Industrial Estate, Chittagong was held on Sunday at Hotel Saint Martin Limited, Chittagong, says a press release.
The meeting was presided over by Mr. S. M. Jamal Ahmed, Chairman of the Company. The meeting was also attended by the Directors namely. Sakib Aziz Chowdhury, Ms Nasrin Sultana, Independent Director S. M. Rezaur Rahman, Md. Towhidul Anowar, Company Secretary B.Gupta, Chief Financial Officer Mohammed Shah Alam, FCMA, auditor Sowkat Hossain, FCA and large number of Shareholders were present in the meeting.
During the period 2015-16 the Company has sold 257,321 MT cement amounting to Tk 1,573.92 million and earned after tax profit of Tk 28.34 million. On the other hand during the period 2015-16 company has exported 39,095 MT cement to Tripura, India and the Company contributed an amount of Tk 367.36 million to the National Exchequer in the form of Customs Duty, Value Added Tax and Income Tax.
After a long discussion on various aspects including the growth of the Company, the Shareholders approved 12% (including 10% interim cash dividend) cash dividend for the period 2015-16 together with the Directors Report, Audited Financial Statements for the 18 months period ended 30 June 2016 and Auditors’ Report thereon.
The Chairman thanked the Shareholders present in the meeting for their support and co-operation extended to the Company. He also expressed gratitude to the management and all categories of employees of the Company for their sincere and dedicated services. The meeting was ended wishing progress of the Company.
