The High Court on Wednesday ordered the authorities concerned to complete the appointment of 43 successful candidates in the vacant posts of Health Assistants, Computer Operators and Store Keepers in nine districts under the Directorate General of Health Services.
A High Court Bench of Justice KM Kamrul Kader and Justice Muhammad Mahbub Ul Islam passed the order after holding a hearing on a writ petition filed in this regard. The court asked authorities concerned to execute the order within 90 days.
Lawyer Salauddin Dolon who appeared in the court on behalf of the candidates said, ‘The 43 petitioners had taken part in the recruitment tests reading an advertisement for the appointments in 2012. In spite of passing the written and the viva voce exams successfully, the concerned authorities didn’t give them the appointment letters. Instead, the
DGHS authorities appointed others through corruption, forcing my clients to file the writ petition.”
The High Court in 2019 had issued a rule, asking the authorities to appoint the 43 petitioners. It came up with the verdict on Wednesday after holding the final hearing on the matter.
