Woman and Children Affairs Ministry has invited application for Rokeya Padak-2019. The government introduced the award in 1995 after the name of Begum Rokeya, a pioneer of women’s emancipation movement in the undivided Bengal. In continuance of the ceremony, five women will be awarded with the Begum Rokeya Padak this year.
Bangladeshi women who have contributions in women education, women rights, socio-economic development of women, literature and rural development are requested to apply for the nominations in the specific forms available in the official websites of the Woman and Children ministry- www.mowca.gov.bd and www.dwa.gov.bd, within July 31,2019.
Applicants must fill up the forms properly and mail a copy to [email protected].
Also, a printout of the form must be sent to the given address-secretary, woman and children affairs ministry, Bangladesh Secretariat, Dhaka. Begum Rokeya Sakhawat Hossain was the leading feminist writer and social worker during the early 20th century and she was mostly famous for her efforts for achieving gender equality and female education.
